Slot Glossary
37 terms covering Epic Bullets and Bounty's DuelReels and Bounty DuelReels mechanics, five Bonus Buy tiers, Wild West theme, and the path to 20,000x.
Autoplay
Spin the reels automatically for a set number of rounds. Pick how many spins and optional stop conditions (stop on Bounty DuelReel landing, stop on Free Spins trigger, stop on balance threshold). Useful for grinding the 1-in-200 scatter trigger that opens the bonus tiers.
Bad Blood FeatureSpins
Epic Bullets and Bounty's second-tier Bonus Buy. Cost 100x bet, RTP 96.24%, average return ~130x. Provides accelerated DuelReel landings during the round. Mid-tier risk profile — not as aggressive as True Grit Free Spins but more reliable than the 5x BonusHunt.
Base Game
Regular gameplay before bonus tiers activate. Epic Bullets and Bounty's base game runs across 19 paylines on the 5×5 grid. High volatility (5/5) means most session profit comes from DuelReel landings — about 77% of all base spins return nothing.
Bonus Buy (Feature Buy)
Skip the base game and jump straight into a bonus tier. Epic Bullets and Bounty offers five buy tiers: BonusHunt FeatureSpins (5x), Bad Blood FeatureSpins (100x), True Grit Free Spins (100x), Four Shots to Freedom (200x), Epic Bonus (1,000x). RTPs range 96.22%-96.35%. UK and Sweden block Bonus Buy by regulation.
BonusHunt FeatureSpins
Epic Bullets and Bounty's entry-tier Bonus Buy. Cost 5x bet, RTP 96.24%, average return ~8x. Provides a short feature-spin sequence at minimal cost — useful for low-bankroll exploration without committing to a full bonus round. Different from the 1,000x Epic Bonus which targets the 20,000x cap.
Bounty DuelReels
Epic Bullets and Bounty's premium DuelReel variant. Standard DuelReels expand into a single full reel. Bounty DuelReels expand across two adjacent reels simultaneously, doubling line-coverage potential. Distribution skews rare — about 1 in 800 base spins for a Bounty DuelReel landing. Combined with high-multiplier alignments, this is where mid-tier base-game wins happen.
Cascading Reels (Tumble)
After a winning combination resolves, winning symbols disappear and new ones drop into place. Epic Bullets and Bounty doesn't use cascades — wins resolve once per spin via 19 paylines and DuelReel mechanics. The replay action comes from VS symbols expanding into DuelReels, not from in-spin cascade chains.
Cluster Pays
Epic Bullets and Bounty doesn't use cluster pays. Wins resolve through 19 fixed paylines on the 5×5 grid. Cluster pays would require connected groups of matching symbols anywhere; Epic Bullets and Bounty keeps the line-win format with DuelReels providing the value-escalation mechanic.
Dead Spin
A spin that returns absolutely nothing. Epic Bullets and Bounty's high volatility (5/5) produces dead spins around 77% of the time at base game. Long droughts of 25+ consecutive dead spins are normal — extreme volatility math demands respect. The 20,000x cap is the trade-off for those drought stretches.
DuelReels
Epic Bullets and Bounty's headline mechanic. When a VS symbol lands and participates in a winning combination, it expands into a full reel showing two characters duelling for a multiplier (2x to 100x). The winning side's multiplier applies to that reel's payline contributions. Multiple DuelReels on the same spin multiply together — two DuelReels on one payline can produce 100x+ multipliers.
Epic Bonus
Epic Bullets and Bounty's top-tier Bonus Buy. Cost 1,000x bet, RTP 96.28%, average return ~350x. Provides the most aggressive feature configuration — guaranteed elevated DuelReel frequency and Bounty DuelReel triggers throughout the round. Highest variance buy in the catalog. The 20,000x cap is most reachable through Epic Bonus rounds.
Feature Trigger Rate
How often any bonus tier activates. Epic Bullets and Bounty's scatter trigger sits at ~1 in 200 base spins. Distribution skews toward True Grit (3-scatter trigger, ~75% of triggers) over Four Shots to Freedom (4-scatter, ~22%) and the rare Epic Bonus natural trigger (5 scatters, ~3%, 1 in 6,500 base spins).
Four Shots to Freedom
Epic Bullets and Bounty's mid-tier bonus round. Triggered by 4 scatters during base play OR Bonus Buy at 200x bet. Guarantees four DuelReels during the round at elevated multiplier ranges. RTP 96.35% — the highest-RTP buy variant. Average return ~120x. Medium-high risk profile.
Free Spins
Bonus rounds where you don't pay the stake. Epic Bullets and Bounty has multiple Free Spins variants: True Grit (3 scatters), Four Shots to Freedom (4 scatters), Epic Bonus (5 scatters). Spin counts and DuelReel guarantees scale with trigger tier. Retriggers add additional spins where applicable.
Gamble Feature
Epic Bullets and Bounty's optional double-or-nothing mini-game after any winning spin. Choose high or low on a card draw or coin flip. Win and your payout doubles. Miss and you lose the round's winnings. Pure 50/50 with no house edge advantage. Most players use it selectively on smaller wins.
Hit Frequency
How often Epic Bullets and Bounty lands any winning combination. The hit rate sits at ~23% — about 1 in 4-5 spins pays something. Lower than mainstream slots because the math model rewards DuelReel multiplier landings and bonus rounds over frequent base-game hits. Extreme volatility (5/5) demands extended bankroll runway.
Max Win
The absolute maximum a slot can pay on a single round. Epic Bullets and Bounty caps at 20,000x — among Hacksaw Gaming's mid-tier ceilings. The path runs almost exclusively through Epic Bonus with multiple Bounty DuelReels stacking high multipliers across paylines. Estimated probability ~1 in 5,000,000 spins.
Max Win Cap
Once Epic Bullets and Bounty hits 20,000x, the round ends immediately. The 20,000x cap reflects Hacksaw's mid-tier variance positioning — exceeded by Stick Em (50,000x) and Dork Unit (55,000x), but generous compared to the Hacksaw 10,000x range (Dark Spiral, Eternal Duel).
Megaways
A Big Time Gaming licensed mechanic with up to 117,649 ways to win. Epic Bullets and Bounty doesn't use Megaways — uses 19 fixed paylines on a 5×5 grid. Hacksaw Gaming has Megaways-licensed titles in their catalog but the DuelReels series stays with the line-format math.
Multiplier
A value that multiplies your win. Epic Bullets and Bounty's DuelReels carry random 2x-100x multipliers when they expand. Base game uses no global multiplier; the value comes entirely from DuelReel landings. Multiple DuelReels on the same payline multiply together (multiplicative, not additive) — two 10x DuelReels on one line = 100x line multiplier.
Paylines
Predefined lines across the reels where matching symbols form a win. Epic Bullets and Bounty runs on 19 fixed paylines on a 5×5 grid. The unusual 19-line count is signature Hacksaw — concentrates win value rather than spreading it thin. Combined with DuelReel multipliers, individual line wins can reach extreme values.
Paytable
The reference chart showing each symbol's payout for matching combinations. Access through the game's info menu. Epic Bullets and Bounty's premium symbols (themed Wild West characters — Bounty Hunter, Sheriff, Bandit) pay the most. Mid-tier symbols include Western imagery (gun, hat, whiskey, dynamite). Card royals (A/K/Q/J/10) fill out the bottom across the 19-line layout.
RNG (Random Number Generator)
The cryptographic algorithm determining every spin outcome. Hacksaw Gaming uses BMM Testlabs-certified RNGs — independently audited for fairness in regulated EU markets. Each spin in Epic Bullets and Bounty is independent of the last; previous DuelReel landings or scatter counts have zero influence on future spin outcomes.
RTP (Return to Player)
The theoretical percentage of wagered money a slot returns over millions of spins. Epic Bullets and Bounty runs at 96.24% (base) — slightly above industry standard. Bonus Buy variants: BonusHunt 96.24%, Bad Blood 96.24%, True Grit 96.22%, Four Shots 96.35%, Epic 96.28%. Some operators may run lower variants — verify in the game info screen.
Scatter
A special symbol that triggers features regardless of payline position. Epic Bullets and Bounty's scatter is the dedicated bonus trigger icon. 3 scatters = True Grit. 4 scatters = Four Shots to Freedom. 5 scatters = Epic Bonus (the rare natural premium trigger). Scatters can land anywhere on the 5×5 grid.
Session Variance
The gap between actual results and theoretical RTP. Epic Bullets and Bounty has 96.24% RTP, but a 200-spin session can return 15% to 500% of your wager. Without a feature trigger, sessions tend to run 30-70% of theoretical RTP. With Epic Bonus + DuelReel compounding, single sessions can finish at 400%+ of wagered amount. Extreme variance is the cost of the 20,000x cap potential.
Sticky Wild
A Wild symbol that stays in place across multiple spins. Epic Bullets and Bounty's base-game DuelReels are NOT sticky — they expand on the spin where they land and disappear with the next spin. During Free Spins variants, DuelReels can become sticky depending on bonus tier — True Grit and higher tiers add sticky behavior to DuelReel positions.
True Grit Free Spins
Epic Bullets and Bounty's entry bonus round. Triggered by 3 scatters during base play OR Bonus Buy at 100x bet. Provides standard DuelReel landings at base-game frequency but with sticky behavior — DuelReels lock in place for the round duration. RTP 96.22%. Average return ~85x. High-variance round.
VS Symbol
Epic Bullets and Bounty's DuelReel trigger. When a VS symbol lands and participates in a winning combination, it expands into a full DuelReel showing two characters duelling for a multiplier. The "VS" notation references the duel format — Hacksaw's signature mechanic across the DuelReels series. Each VS symbol can only trigger one DuelReel per spin.
Volatility (Variance)
How a slot's payouts are distributed. Epic Bullets and Bounty is rated High (5/5) — top-tier variance. The 23% hit frequency produces longer dry spells than mainstream Hacksaw titles. Bonus rounds trigger rarely but produce outsized wins when they happen. The 77% dead-spin rate at base game is the cost of the 20,000x cap potential.
Ways to Win
An alternative to fixed paylines. Epic Bullets and Bounty uses 19 fixed paylines, not ways-to-win. The minimal-line format concentrates win value rather than spreading it thin. Combined with DuelReel multiplier compounding, individual line wins can reach extreme values that wouldn't be possible on dense-line layouts.
Wild
A symbol that substitutes for any regular symbol to complete winning combinations. Epic Bullets and Bounty's VS symbols function as Wilds when they expand into DuelReels — the entire reel becomes wild for that spin, substituting for everything except scatters. Multiple DuelReels on the same payline produce multiplicative wild stacking.
Win Distribution
How total payouts are spread across different win sizes. High-volatility slots like Epic Bullets and Bounty are top-heavy — Epic Bonus contributes ~30% of total RTP despite triggering rarely. Four Shots to Freedom ~25%. True Grit Free Spins ~22%. Base-game DuelReel alignments ~18%. Standard payline wins ~5%. The distribution skews dramatically toward bonus rounds.
Bonus Buy Restrictions
Some countries ban purchasing bonus rounds. UK prohibits since October 2021. Sweden caps bet sizes during buys. Epic Bullets and Bounty's five Bonus Buy tiers (5x to 1,000x) follow these restrictions. Hacksaw's distribution skews toward markets where buy availability varies. The Four Shots to Freedom Buy at 96.35% RTP is the highest-RTP buy variant.
Hacksaw Gaming DuelReels Series
Hacksaw's DuelReels-themed catalog includes Epic Bullets and Bounty alongside Eternal Duel (mythology), Wanted Dead or a Wild (Western), Le Bandit (criminal), and other DuelReels releases. Common thread: VS symbol expansion mechanic, multiplier compounding on DuelReels, multiple bonus tiers. Epic Bullets and Bounty (August 2025) sits in Hacksaw's modern Western expansion of the series.
Wild West Theme Symbol Hierarchy
Epic Bullets and Bounty's premium symbol order. Bounty Hunter (top tier) pays the highest line values. Sheriff second. Bandit third. Wild West imagery (gun, hat, whiskey, dynamite) fills the mid tier. Card royals (A/K/Q/J/10) form the bottom across the 19-line layout. The premium-tier symbols pay roughly 5-10x more per line than mid-tier symbols.
5×5 Grid with 19 Paylines
Epic Bullets and Bounty's grid format. 5 reels × 5 rows = 25 cells. Pays through 19 fixed paylines — unusual count chosen to concentrate win value. Sister DuelReels titles use varying payline counts (Eternal Duel uses 20, Wanted Dead or a Wild uses 5). The 19-line density supports DuelReel mechanics by providing meaningful line coverage when DuelReels expand.
